NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 175 of the Town Law of the State of New York, as amended, the annual election of officers of THE GOLDEN’S BRIDGE FIRE DISTRICT will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Fire House located at Route 138, Golden’s Bridge, New York. The polls will be open from Six o’clock (6:00 p.m.) in the evening until Nine o’clock (9:00 p.m.) in the evening, for the purpose of casting ballots. The officers to be elected are: One (1) Fire Commissioner for a term of Five (5) years commencing January 1, 2017, and ending on December 31, 2021. Candidates for Fire District Office must file certificates of nomination at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of the annual Fire District election; such filing shall be with the Secretary of the Board of Fire Commissioners. Said certificates must be submitted in petition form subscribed to by twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the Town of Lewisboro, Town of Somers, Town of North Salem, in Westchester County, New York AND who shall have resided in the GOLDEN’S BRIDGE FIRE DISTRICT for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding the annual election of such fire district officers.

The resolution, a summary of which is published herewith, has been adopted on March 24, 2016 and approved as a Proposition at the Special Election duly called and held on May 3, 2016. The validity of the obligations authorized by such resolution may be hereafter contested only if such obligations were authorized for an object or purpose for which the Goldens Bridge Fire District, in the Towns of Lewisboro, Somers and North Salem, Westchester County, New York, is not authorized to expend money or if the provisions of law which should have been complied with as of the date of publication of this Notice were not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity is commenced within twenty days after the publication of this Notice, or such obligations were authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution.
FIRE DISTRICT SECRETARY
BOND RESOLUTION OF THE GOLDENS BRIDGE FIRE DISTRICT, IN THE TOWNS OF LEWISBORO, SOMERS AND NORTH SALEM, WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK, ADOPTED MARCH 24, 2016, AUTHORIZING THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FIREHOUSE LOCATED AT 254 WACCABUC ROAD; STATING THAT THE ESTIMATED MAXIMUM COST THEREOF, INCLUDING PRELIMINARY COSTS AND COSTS INCIDENTAL THERETO AND THE FINANCING THEREOF, IS $9,700,000; APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT FOR SUCH PURPOSE, INCLUDING THE EXPENDITURE OF APPROXIMATELY $7,000,000 FROM INSURANCE PROCEEDS; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF NOT TO EXCEED $2,700,000 BONDS OF THE FIRE DISTRICT TO FINANCE THE BALANCE OF SAID APPROPRIATION; STATING THAT THE PERIOD OF PROBABLE USEFULNESS OF SAID PROJECT IS FIFTEEN (15) YEARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF SAID BONDS AND THE INTEREST THEREON AS THE SAME BECOME DUE AND PAYABLE
The object or purpose for which the bonds are authorized is the reconstruction of the firehouse located at 254 Waccabuc Road, at the estimated maximum cost of $9,700,000. The maximum amount of bonds authorized to be issued is $2,700,000.
The period of usefulness is fifteen (15) years.
A complete copy of the bond resolution summarized above shall be available for public inspection during normal business hours at the office of the Fire District Secretary, Goldens Bridge Fire District, 254 Waccabuc Road, Goldens Bridge, New York.
